JoroinenThe historians suggest the year 1631 as the year of foundation of the parish of Joroinen, because the first note in the tax book concerning the wage to the vicar is from that year. The parish has been integrated from sub-areas of several parishes, namely Juva (Joroinen, Järvikansa and Mäkiöinen tithes districts), Pieksämäki (Hietanen, Suontie and Syväsilta tithes districts) and Sääminki (Kaitainen and Ruokoniemi tithes districts).
